inbound caller ID

Hi

We recently had installed a Mitel 3300 switch with 5330 phones.

We are in the UK and connected to an ISDN30 DASS trunk

My question is this:
How do you get the inbound caller number to display, and if that caller is in the phone book, their name??

Currently all we get on the handset screens is 'BT DASS'
any pointers welcome.

There Are several Posibilities.

Dass Trunks may not support Caller ID?

The Trunk is not delivering Caller ID

The trunk does not have the Caller ID specific Class of service options enabled on the 3300.
-enable ANI/DNIS/ISDN Number Delivery Trunk in the trunk's Class of Service.
-For DID trunks, enable Display DNIS/Called Number Before Digit Modification in the trunk's Class of Service (if desired).



The station does not have the Class of service options enabled to display caller ID

enable the following options as required:
- To display the ANI/ISDN calling number only, enable Display ANI/ISDN Calling Number Only.

- To display unmodified DNIS numbers, enable Display DNIS/Called Number Before Digit Modification.

- To display ANI, DNIS, and trunk information related to a station's keyline or multicall line (not the station's prime line), enable Display Caller ID on Multicall/Keylines.

Ok...

The trunk was not delivering caller ID's, I have changed it as you suggested in the class of service config. This now displays my mobile number when I ring into the reception phone... that's that bit is fixed -- thanks!!

I have added my mobile phone number to the Phone book along with my name, However, the number needs to be prefixed with a 9 to dial out.

when I dial reception from my mobile, the number is displayed on the reception desk phone, it shows my mobile number as the inbound caller number. (Obviously without the 9 prefix).

How do I translate that inbound number into the Phone book name as I think it is the lack of the 9 on the inbound caller number that is throwing it...

Have I missed something fundamental from your responce??

By Mobile, do you mean Cordless Analog Set?

When Dialing reception are you dialing an internal or external number?

Your message above does not make sense to me. Forgive me, but can you try to be clearer in your goals.

What are you trying to achieve?

Mobile = Cell Phone

...I am using it to test

when I add my mobile/cell phone to the phone book, the phone book will not accept the entry without there being a leading '9' prefix in the number field.

when i dial the reception desk, i am dialing in from the outside using my cell phone. (albeit standing next to it)

my cell phone number is displayed on the reception desk phone when i dial in, however,it does not come up with my name as the entry for my cell phone in the phone book has a '9' prefix.

So i guess to map our inbound numbers to the phone book, i need a way of adding in a '9' to prefix the digits of the inbound caller.

does this make any sense??

YES!!!

Now I understand. You are trying to add calling Name ID to a known external number that does not provide Calling Name.

You need to look up Alpha Tagging in the help files.

Description
Alpha Tagging associates names with external numbers entered in the system telephone directory. When a call from an "alpha tagged" number is received on a display device, the user sees the associated name and number. Alpha Tagging is intended for (but not restricted to) jurisdictions that do not provide calling party name in incoming signaling from the PSTN.
