Hi,

Ive been asked to take a look at a particular server that is not performing its log inactivation. We've ran a report, and theres logs showing as active going as far back as 2005!

The logs are being reused by Lotus itself as the TranLogs folder is only around 3.5GB in size.

We run daily incrementals and weekly selective backups of each Notes server in this domain. When running the /inactivatelogs command it just returns that 0 have been inactivated.

Any ideas? TSM Server is 5.4.2, TDP client 5.1.5.1. Server is Win2K.

Hi

Take a look at the following docref on IBM site:

1083537

If you're only running selective backups, and there's a possibility that some databases have been deleted from Domino (without ever having run an incremental to mark said DB's as deleted within TSM) then that might explain the symptoms you described.

Please post success or otherwise, ta :)

Have Fun !

Hi Matthew,

Every weekend, each server runs the following:

TDP Selective
TDP Incremental
TDP Inactivation.

Of the 15 servers in the Estate, only this one shows they symptom, yet all of them run to the same backup methodology.

Hi,

do you mean Translogs on your Domino server or on your TSM?

Regards
/egr

TSM server, the trans logs are flushing fine on the Domino server, but theres hundreds on the TSM server awaiting inactivation.
