Inaccurate Time Display on Phones

Our phone system stopped keeping time on the handsets this morning. I can use the feature code to go in and change the time but it stays at the time I program in. It does not keep accurate time on the handsets. I'm also guessing that the system is stamping all voicemail messages with the wrong time as well. Any one have any thoughts on the cause of this? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Did you change the time in LD 2?
to print current time :
TTAD
prints day of week, day, month, year, hour, minute, second

to set time and date:
STAD day month year hour minute second
ex.
STAD 27 03 2002 14 13 00

try that.

Sorry I should have stated in my post - I inherited handling these problems from someone else and have had minimal experience with this system (Norstar Meridian). Can you clarify the instructions for someone that has never done this before.

Although this forum is for Nortel Meridian PBX users, I may be able to help with the Norstar. From the administration phone, do the following:

press Feature **8436 (spells "Time" on keypad).
The password is 23646 or "admin" on the keypad.
Press "Change"
Enter 2 digit hour
Press "Change" to select AM/PM
Press "OK"
Press "Next"
Press "Change"
enter 2 dgit Minutes
Press "RLS" when done

You can also change the date from this menu.

I have gone through the procedure to change the time and it does change the time on the sets - however they stay at the time I set and do not change automatically to keep time. In other words I just set the time to 5:38 PM, it is now 5:45 and all of the sets stil say 5:38PM. I'm trying to determine if there is something else I can do or if this is an indication of some kind of failure with the system itself.
