Hi,

My computer al of a sudden without me making any change started giving this error when I boot it.

error
*** STOP: 0X0000007B (0X84D3B030, 0XC000009C, 0X00000000, 0X00000000 INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE.

It says "uninstall any new hardware", but I have not installed anything. I have two OS, W2k server and XP professional. Both unable to start the computer.

Plz help if you know what is going on.

Thanks

Sounds like yuour hard drive has failed.

What file system did you have on the hard disk? Do you have a boot floppy to see if you can access the hard drive?

I hope you find this post helpful. Please let me know if it was.

Mark

I have NTSF. I try to run XP recover console since I instaled w2k first (c drive) and XP later (d drive), on my machine. When repair starts, it asks "Which widows you want to logon", what does that mean?, I typed XP it says "number specfied is not correct".

Thanks

It is detecting both the Windows XP and the Windows 2000 installations. Take a look just above the prompt and you should see a listing of OS installations. You need to be typing a 1 or a 2 at that prompt.

I hope you find this post helpful. Please let me know if it was.

I would run a full scan on your hard drive with a tool from the manufacturer of your hard drive, just to make sure that your drive is error free. If you find that its starting to fail you have a higher chance of ghosting it to a replacement drive the less you use it and cause more damage to the drive.

Once you have ghosted your drive you can usually run windows repair to fix your OS.

If the drives check out ok again the easiest option to fix problems with it starting is to do a windows repair.
