i disconnected all hardware i didn't need. error stays
i can't read a disk in the dos mode :(

what is wrong?

From an identical system, create an ERD (Emergency Repair Disk). You create it by going to Accessories - System Tools - Backup. Select "Emergency Repair Disk." Don't check to backup the registry.

Boot from W2K install CD. Select Repair. Use ERD when it asks for it. This should solve your problem.

didn't try your solution yet but isn't that useful when there are problems with the OS or Harddisk?

"CMOS checksum error"

I checked my cmos-battery and it's still ok ...

Does the BIOS detect the correct sized hard drive?

If it doesn't you may need to update your BIOS versions. Try going to the motherboard manufacturer website and downloading the latest firmware. You will need your floppy drive working though!

Hi,
thank's teddro for help, but -
I have similar error message:
STOP: 0x00007B (0xF681B84C, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE,
but the situation this error issued is different:

I have in home PC - working WinXP Home ed., HDD SAMSUNG 120GB IDE (as Primary master), 4 partitions:
c:\ FAT32, ~7GB with Win XP Home system
d:\ NTFS ~ 30GB (data)
e:\ FAT32 ~ 7 GB (empty)
f:\ NTFS (data)

I want install Win2000, make PC multiboot (temporary - for time to choose to leave w2k or XP)

I connected this HDD in my office PC (Intel MB, PIII 750, 160MB RAM) as sigle HDD/Secondary Master. Then I installed Win 2000 pro on e:\ FAT32 partition , using bootable installation CD.

Everyth. is ok - w2k boots fast, no errors.

When i reconnect HDD in same office PC to Primary IDE as master, i got above err. mess. BIOS recognizes HDD and CD-ROm without prob's.
The same error when connect hdd back in my Home PC (to Primary IDE).
I made sys. repair from boot.CD - error remains
I connected back to second. IDE in office pc - works fine again - means boot sector is OK !

-Never got such error by connecting HDD on the same PC from Prim. to sec. IDE in Win98 or Win NT4.

Finally I need this HDD in Home PC as Pri.Master !! (Se. IDE is for CD-ROM & CD-RW)

Would be greatful for help !
