I just did something that got RESULTSSSSSS!!!!!

You know the aluminum grille some cases have that protect the case fans? I took a pair of tin snips to mine, opening them up, it dropped the case temp by 15 or so degrees and the cpu by 20. Used to run 135-140+ under full load depending on the room temp, the chip idles at 114 now and around 120+ while gaming, this is nutts, there is a BUTT LOAD more air flowing now, super. The only drawback will be dust.. and I gots compressed air. :D

Presumably this would also mean the fan(s) could ingest larger items like pens, toys, coins or SMALL FINGERS. Nice eh... [thumbsdown]

Maybe you need to think about the safety aspect of removing these protective grills.

Well the case has a cover, the only fan that is exposed is the rear one, and I dont have kids! Its cool I'll grab some road cones and an early warning radar, that'll fix it!

Thelonepixel, just for safety's sake; You wouldn't happen to have some electricity in that machine, eh? You know how dangerous that stuff can be!

In fact, now I think about it, that electricity stuff is stored in my walls, I just syphon it out with that cable stuff. But yesterday I was hammering nails into it...I could have been killed!

[surprise]

OMG.
