I'd argue that the word "Emerency or even "Emergency" is redundant after the word "Fire" in a commercial building. When is a fire NOT an emergent danger?

"Hey look, there's a fire, wonder if that's an emerency fire or just a regular fire???"

I wonder if the person who caught it said, "Ah, geez!"

...more like "oh, effs!!!"

I don't think "emergency" describes the type of "fire". I'd say that "fire" describes the type of "emergency".

There is a road junction near me that has the word "SLOM" painted on it (instead of SLOW).

If you check again, I believe that the intersection is near a synagogue and a Hebraically sub-literate road-sign painter was simply wishing greetings to those attending Shabbat Musaf or other services.
