Hello all. I just found this group this morning, and I am thrilled to see all of the valuable info here.

Is there anyway to create an IQD to access specific members of a PRMS file? I can use ODBC the access the file, but I cannot access specific members of the file (it seems to default to the first member found on the system- which is usually NOT the member I need).

I have been successful at tweaking the SQL to read the logical files instead of the physicals. However, I would like to avoid creating many specific-member logicals. Also, I would really like to avoid using hotfiles.

Thank you for any suggestions,

Sorry - you cannot specify which member of a physical file you can access.

I had the same problem with the multi member files used in the old horizon ledgers from space.

I researched the Cognos site, News 400 (iSeries now), different ODBC drivers all without sucess.

Your are left with either locical files or copying the members to their own physical file.

Sorry for the bad news
