I have developed a suite of reports that run over a Notes db and I'm currently setting security for users. My question is, will Impromptu override the security for the user within the Notes db ACL?

e.g If a user has the ability to view only certain docs in Notes will the ODBC 'sign on' to Notes look at the ACL to determine what the user can see in the report they are running?

Thanx in advance

This depends on how you set up your catalog. If you create a user class for each user and then set the database login to the associated user's database login, then the database will know who the user is and will enforce security.

If you use a single database login for all user classes then Impromptu catalog user class security is all you have. (Because you've given Impromptu an open door to the database with a generic login)

HTH,

Justin
