0516-010 lqueryvg: Volume group must be varied on; use varyonvg command.
testvg2

thx,
regards,M.

You are supposed to varyon the volume group before mounting the filesystems. More than likely it is already varied on but I always run the command just in case.

varyonvg testvg2

hi ,
when you import a volume group , it is automatically varied on , unless the volume group you are exporting is in concurrent mode , in which case you have to do a varyonvg after the import , also note quorum is tuned on by default and so is activate volume group on start up .

Hello,

I was expecting the following:

# importvg -V 101 -y testvg2 hdisk3
testvg2
#

instead of:

# importvg -V 101 -y testvg2 hdisk3
0516-010 lqueryvg: Volume group must be varied on; use varyonvg command.
testvg2
#

Why the "importvg" script is invoking "lqueryvg" before varying on the VG?

regards,
M.

By default when you import the VG you will get this message. It is not a warning, it is informational. You will get this everytime you import a volume group.

is this HA environment? why you using -V 101? try
without then and see if gets same error.
