I am making a site in flash.
My colleague design the graphics in photoshp and I imprt them in flash.
My flash movie is with black bg.
I have a earth rotating which has a background of black colour and from behind the earth a light is coming, i have to show this way.
Both of which are images.
If I import the earth file to flash with black bg then my light is not visible and if i import a image with transperancy it gives white patch.
Secondly I did breakapart and by magic wand tool i selected the area(patch) and deleted it but a small thin white line still remains.
I cant select that line by magic wand and i have to manually remove the line by rubber but the shape ofearth gets distorted.
Please help me.
I would be grateful to the person.

well, its a bit difficult and u cant use flash, u need to do it in photoshop.
it happens because of anti aliesing in the picture so u need to cancel anti alies manuely, to do so,select your image in photoshop by using the magiq wand on the background and then inverse to choose the object (earth), then go to select-modify-contract and contract the image by 1 or 2 pixeles, choose inverse once agaIN AND FILL THE EREA IN THE BLACK COLOR OR WHAT EVER COLOR U WANT TO BE TRANSPERENT convert the image in photoshop to indexed color, with adaptive palete to match your picture color, then go to export, gif89a, AND CHOOSE THE area to be transperent with the pappet tool.
save your image and import it to flash.
practice with all the elements till u have it the way u like it.
if u learn any other way, tell me how...
(there is a better way to do it in photoshop, with masking and channels but its preety hard so this will be sufficient.
niv

Thanks a lot to tell me the solution.
I did it the way u told and it worked thanks a lot.
There are also two other ways:
1. You need Photosop 5.5. Use a mask or magic wand to select the area to be deleted then delete. Use the 'save for web' function and save it as a PNG. You can only do this with Photoshop 5.5
2. In flash break apart your image. Using the shape tools draw a square or circle (whatever shape you are trying to achieve, no fill) the size you wish you final graphic to be. With your shape on a different layer (above) position it. Make size adjustments now to fit your needs. Cut the shape, go to the layer of the graphic, paste in place, deselect. Now select and erase your shape. This leaves the graphic in the shape you wanted.
Hope it helps.

Another easy way to do it is save the pic as a Transparent PNG file then just import the PNG into flash

Az
azmaramza@home.com
ICQ 59238403
