Have read a lot of threads about importing pst files but nothing that relates to my problem......

I left a job recently and burned my office pst file onto CD, thinking that I could then import it into my home system. My office system was using Outlook XP and my home is using Outlook 2000.

When I try importing I get an error which says: "Properties for this information service must be defined prior to use".

When I click OK I then get an error which says: "File access is denied. You do not have the permission required to access the file D:\etc etc....."

All suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks

What you need to do is,

1/ Copy the PST file from your CD onto your hard drive
2/ Right click the File> Properties and uncheck the 'read-only' attribute
3/ In Outlook, File>Open "Personal folder file (.pst)" & point to the pst file

Hope this helps,
