I am trying to import an Outlook pst file from Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2002. The error I get when importing is:

The file backup.pst is not a personal folders file.

It looks identical to other pst files which import fine.

Is it something to do with 2000, 2002 compatability?

Also,
If you are importing the file from CD:
You need to save the PST to your new computer. Be
sure to write down the path so you know where you
saved it.
Then right click the PST in your EXPLORER window
Select PROPERTIES
Uncheck the box next to "Read-only"
Check the "Archive" text box
Click APPLY
Click OK

Other Suggestions..
Try opening the file like
File - Open - >pst
or
Try doing a scanpst.exe (Inbox Repair Tool) on the pst.

Thanks for link, but still no joy!
Using the import wizard and trying to add a new data file both result in the same error,
'The file is not a Personal Folders File' even though the file shows up when only looking for .pst files.

Have you checked the attributes of the file?
Also run a scanpst.exe on the file to see if its corrupt.
