Hi,

I have a word document 'A' and inside it, I have my own menu item 'XYZ'. This menu item provides the merge fields, say 'merge field 1', 'merge field 2' ... etc etc
The merge fields come from the macros i have written.

I have a lot of documents like 'A' and whenver I need to add a new merge field, I have to go through following procedure, in document 'A':

1) Create a new macro
2) Add this to the menu at top.

I have to follow this procedure in ALL of the documents one by one which is tedious.

Is there any way by which I can just add a macro and a menu item for it, in ONE file and then import/attach it to the document 'A' and all other documents?

Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi,
If I understand your question....
Open both documents. Then you can click on the Tools menu and select Templates and Add-Ins. Click Organizer in the lower left corner of the window. Click the tab for macros or toolbars. Select the toolbar or macro and move from one document to the other.
Hope this helps answer your question,

When I click the macros or toolbars tab, I dont see anything in the boxes that I can transfer.

Are you sure you have the correct documents open IN the Organizer? This has nothing to do with having the actual document open. Also, maybe you can do so in 2003, but in 2002 you can only copy at the Project level. You can copy modules containing procedures, but you can not copy individual procedures themselves.

Also, are you using a template (.DOT) for this?

Yes, I have got the right files open in organiser and those file have got the macros and my menu item. But they do not appear in the list boxes!

I'll say it again, procedures do not show, modules do. Also, menu changes will never show, as they are not macros, they are changes to the CommandBar. They may fire a macro, but the change to the UI (the menu items) are document specific.

I'll ask again. Are you using a template (.DOT) for this?
