I am trying to setup a MAS 90 company and have information residing in 2 different formats. One is in ACT format and the other is in Excel. How do you import the information to MAS 90? And can you create fields within Mas 90 that are currently not there and import information into those newly created fields from either Excel or Act?

I am not familiar with Act, other than to day I know you can export data in a comma dim format.

Excel is a little easier, because you can set up an odbc connection and use it as a data source.

Either way, to import into mas, you need to be familiar with the visual intigrater module. A manual is available, I suggest you read it, but a class would be helpful.

It is kinda complicated to explain, but once you get used to it, it's not too bad.

There is a module called Act! Link that will let them talk to each other. Depending on what info you need from act, all I can get to export is basic contact information. Any way you look at it you will still need to have the Visual Integrator module. What is it you are trying to import? I may have done it before.

Thnks in advance to all users out there who continually answer all of our questions. Although I try to answer some questions, I usually am asking.

You can create User Defined Fields (UDFs) in the customer or vendor master files and import data using the Visual Integrator module.

Use Custom Office to create UDFs.
