Our Timesheet management system can export reports mirroring the task view into excel (.csv) format. Does anyone know if or how I can then map or import this information into the task usage view of project 2002?

Thanks in advance.

A quick scan of the input and output format options in P98 (including pivot tables!) didn't show any means of mapping TimeScaleData. P2000+ is on a different machine and I couldn't check it right now, but I expect that the same constraint will apply there.

If it isn't possible to generate a map with TimeScaleData fields then I can't see how it would be possible to import the .csv file.

Looks like the answer is a custom tailored VBA procedure.

(I'll be interested in seeing if anybody else has a workable approach.)

Sorry can you clarify what a VBA procedure is?

Thanks for your help!

VBA = Visual Basic for Applications

Open your project
Press Alt+F11

You'll see an embedded VB environment where you can write VB and VB-similar code to create macros (miniature programs) accessing the properties, classes and methods that the Project object model exposes.

If you've got an IT department in your organization then I'm sure they can give you the kind of guidance and support you'll need.
