Importing frozen tapes

lol on a server rebuild all tapes are frozen and even Veritas struggled to suggest a way of importing cataloging he tapes

They recommended a complete erase !!! MAD

All I wanted is the catalogues to restore the settings.
 
Sorry I'm not sure I understand the problem could you detail again and remember we have no background knowlage to your enviorment or what you are trying to do.
 
We have 3 media servers, the 1st is also the master media server.

To import tapes from a remote media server is the syntax

bpimport -create_db_info -id (media barcode) -server (remote media server name)

Initiation process is successful and it appears in the monitor as active but just sits there and does nothing running away like a lost child.

Can u monitor what its doing or anyway to see if what I have done is right.

I did a similar thing on the master media server where the -server name was the master server so I guess on a remote server I use the name of the remote server?

I am just trying to rebuild the catalogues by importing the tapes back into the database.
