Importing from Excel

All,
Is it possible to perform an import, and prompt the user with options during the import? I am importing from an excel file and this will need to be performed daily.

For example, if there are duplicate records it will prompt the user to skip the record or to update the current record with the imported information in specific fields?

Can someone please help me with this?
