Has anyone ever exported users and then imported them. The RemoteManager user can not be deleted. You wind up with to Remotemanager users.

Does anyone know how to delete the remotemanager user?

don't export

select al users exept remote manager and no user
right mouse click and copy

then in the other screen ctrl v and they are all there :)
mabey not supported but it works

Delete the No User and the RemoteManager user in the IPO you want to export from. Then perform the export and close the config without saving.

The 2 users will not be part f the export but they won't be deleted either if you remember not to save the modified config.

Hi milestoned,

You can delete the RemoteManager by giving it an extn number, then deleteing it.
Cheers

Run the config through the Wizard, it will give you an error there are two users with the same name (RemoteManager). It will give you the options to edit one of the users or delete one of the users. Choose delete and it will delete the second RemoteUser. Same thing also works if you have multiple "NoUser" users.

Thank you for all of your replies. First off I can delete the RemoteManager user but can't delete the NoUser user.

Tried to copy and paste, that no longer works at all and that sucks because I used that all the time. Tried running it thru the wizard, it points out the the duplicate users but doesn't delete them.

As ras as I can tell no matter how you open the config nouser is write protected and can't be deleted. That makes exporting config entities for users useless.

I also tried export/import as text but I must be doing something wrong because it wil not launch.

You can delete the No User

Give it a logincode then its a hotdesk user and you can delete it.

If i go from a software level higher i always export everything then upgrade and import everything.

This always leave me with a clean config.

why doesn't copy and paste work anymore ?
which version is this in ?

copy and paste stopped maybe 3.0 but it dosen't work on this version 3.1 65 for sure. but changing the user to a hotdesk ext worked like a champ! thanks

then it must work
i did it with 3.1
make sure you don't use ctrl c but right click your mouse after you selected all users
there you can copy
then you can use ctrl v to paste

bdelmar is correct. Avaya says the wizard is the only way to successfully delete the users properly. There may be other ways to do it, but you take the chance of corrupting the config file.
