Importing buttons from Flash

Hi,
I am very very new to Dreamweaver so please be patient with me. I have created a set of buttons in Flash5 and have used the insert flash icon from the objects group to put the button where required. However in preview nothing happens. I am obviously doing something very basic wrong but do not know what. Any help - in plain english if possible - would be much appreciated.

Have you made sure you uploaded your flash to your Remote server? Live long and make your kids suffer..

At present I am building the page and am just testing it in dreamweaver via the F12 button shouldthe buttons work in this mode? Many thanks
