Using Indesign 2, just loaded CS2. I have two master pages that are not facing. The margins are different depending on whether it's a left or right hand page. I now want to import text from a Word document so it will flow from Master A (right hand page), to Master B (left hand page)then to Master A, etc. When I import using the shift key it always goes to Master A and creates new pages using Master A. That means I have to go to the left hand pages and move the text blocks to the appropriate loation which can be a pain on a 40 page chapter. What might be a better way of importing?

It might be easier to just flow the thing into regular pages and then, in Pages pallette, apply the appropriate master to the appropritae pages.

On a mac, you can hold down Command & Shift to select several non contiguous pages - like all the left ones - in the Pages pallette. Then apply the proper master.

To speed thing up you can go to Edit menu/Keyboard shortcuts/Pallette menus/Pages/Apply Master and set up a keyboard shortcut. I use ID 3 and there is not preset shortcut for that particular command, but the command is in the keyboard shortcuts for making one.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4

Thanks - I think I might have come across an answer myself. John
