Howdy there

i am creating a colouring book and i have drawn numerous pictures on paper and i have scanned them in and saved them as *.gif. Now here comes the problem, I have imported them into flash and now i can not edit them.

Any idea how i can do this other then the time consuming and tedious task of tracing them with the mouse.

Thanx in advance

Dayzee

Flash is not a pixel editor. Try using a combination of Photoshop and Illlustrator to get the parts you want. Photoshop will let you separate things out into layers, then you can put them into photoshop or Flash.

hi dayzee

although you won't get all the functionality of photoshop et al, you can still edit it to an extent. When you import it, select it and press Ctrl+B to break it up into a bmp format. You can then select areas using the lasso/magic-wand tools etc to edit the areas you require.

I have found that having imported a gif such as you describe, a 'trace bitmap' will produce a new library item which can be edited nicely. try experimenting with the threshold values when tracing the bitmap until you get the desired result.
Hope this helps.
