Hi,

May someone can help me,
how I can import text with the style names in ID, in PM it's easy (style name write lie this <style name> and nothing else)
what I have to do to import text with style name in ID?
I need some scripts? what I have to write to ID undestood the style names?

I do need this answer too. I have txt file with tags at the beginning of each sentence. It worked really well with PageMaker, it can guess that <xyz> tag was for xyz paragraph style and he applyed it. But ID doesn't seem to read the same thing, so is it possible to tell it to read those tags and apply them for the text I import?

Thanks.

you have to use xml for this.
Copy your text into an xml editor and save as xml.
In Indesign you create the paragraphstyles and tags (in the tags pallette) you give tags and paragraphstyles the exact same name. In the tag pallette you link the tags to the paragraph styles. After this is done , you can import your xml document into Indesign.

hi,
I found it :)
just need write
befor text where you need to apply a paragraph style write
<ParaStyle:paragraph style name> and it's all
no need xml, new scripts, nothing.
If someone want to chek it jus import some text to ID,
select him and export (ctrl + E on WIN)
choose "Indesign tagged text"
open the created file
youl see the code created by indesign
there you find example what you need.
