Hello,

I need ideas how to import txt file to sql database.

Thanks,
Mona

well, if your database is SQL Server, you have bcp or DTS (SQL 2000) or SSIS (SQL 2005).

You probably should tell the mechanic what kind of car you have before asking them to order parts ;-)

Hope this helps,

Alex

Thanks,

I was thinkng of doing it in SQL 2000. It is txt delimted file and I need to import and I need to import only 3 columns

Because this is a whole lot to explain, I suggest you start here:
But I also suggest that you save the resulting package, and really examine it using the DTS designer. Then post back if you have any questions about the different parts. This will help you to create a solid foundation and in the future let you take advantage of some of the more advanced capabilities of DTS.

Hope this helps,

Alex
