Don't know what has happened but ever time I try and import an ASCII comma delimited text file nothing happens and Paradox 8 freezes up.

I've tried smaller, and different text files. Same problem. I've reinstalled Paradox 8. Problem still exist.

Access 2003 imports same text files fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks Much.

What is the name of the text file?

Do any/all have a .txt extension?

Are there any .job files in the directory?

Hi Tony . . .

"What is the name of the text file?"
OCDownloadRES.txt
This is a comma delimited ASCII file.

"Do any/all have a .txt extension?"
Not sure what you mean.

"Are there any .job files in the directory?"
No. Just the text file.

I now getting an error that says "file is in use." There is NO file in use.

I'm stumped.

Thanks . . . Rick

Okay Tony . . .

This is what happened.

The settings for the delimiters somehow changed.

The moral of the story; ALWAYS check the import setting before clicking "start."

Thanks Much.
