Import psd into word.

How do you do that?

Unless Microsoft has issued a new import filter for PSD in its more recent releases of Word, this cannot be done. Save the PSD to another format before inserting in Word.

Even those applications that claim PSD import may not support such as recent versions of Photoshop use a newer PSD format that is probably not compatible.

I think I should make this clearer what I am looking to do. I have a design in Photoshop I want to use as a letterhead. Can I use this in word? If not what programme would be best?

Just Save As .tiff or high quality .jpg and insert it in a Word doc.

Save the PSD to another format before inserting in Word.

The only page layout application that fully supports the PSD format as a placed image is Adobe's InDesign.

Are you planning to have a professional "print" your letterhead using your design or do you plan to simply insert your PShop design into a Word doc, as a pic, and use as electronic letterhead?

I flatten the image, convert it to 8 bit, reduce its size if necessary (length and Width), and reduce the dpi to 200-300. I then save it as a jpeg, and bring it into Word as a picture.

I've never tried a multi-layer tiff, but I've noticed Windows Explorer doesn't do well with their thumbnails.
