If you mean a table containing pdf files, I wouldn't do that at all. Instead, just store the file name of the pdf and keep the file stored on disc. Peter Meachem

PDF is just a snapshot of the data. It is the format used by Adobe Acrobat. I'm not even sure how a database could be saved into PDF format. Reports could be saved in PDF. However, since it is an image of the data, and not the data itself, I don't think you can import it.
Dan wants to read the text out of a pdf and then into Access, I think. I told hime that Acrobat 5 has a plugin that will write to a text or html file. I think that is what he is after. Peter Meachem

Hi Peter
I making progress thanks in great part to you! I downloaded the program and plugin by "aportisdoc". This will allow you to save the the pdf file in a "text" format; I can then import the raw text into access. I have some work to do to get the data into the right fields.
Do you know if this can work the other way around? I am needing to populate PDF forms with data from an Access database based on a single key like a Social Security Number. I want to be be able to type an SSN someplace (on the PDF itself or in some other Access form) and the information, if it is found, would automatically be moved to the PDF. This isn't going to be used on a network or web page, but for individual users with private databases.
