Hi,

Previously I'm using Outlook Express 5 as my email client application. I've just recently switch to Outlook Express 6. However, I can't import all of my email from OE 5 from the Import option on OE 6. How come? The OE 5 email folder was saved in the extension of .mbx & .idx but I can only import email from OE 4 and OE 6 when I go to the Import option on OE 6.

How do I import my old email then? Please let me know.

Thanks a bunch.

You can use the "version 6" option to import mail from version 5. Please see the following MSKB article :-
Just select "Import Mail from an OLE6 store directory" on the screen after this one and browse to where you have stored the mail.

Also, it should be noted that you cannot do this from CD as I think the files have to be non Read-Only. Don't quote me on that though.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried to use all the available Import items listed in the Outlook Express 6 Import Dialog with no luck... I donno why...

But at last I got the solution to extract all the emails from the INBOX.MBX file by using a small but handy tool called MBXtract - it is only a 48KB size of file but did a very well done job for me!)

After extracting the emails from the .MBX files I then drag and drop the emails into Outlook Express 6 Inbox, now I'm happy becoz all my emails from the old Outlook Express 5 back to my INBOX already! -^.^-

Hope this help for those who are having the same problem as I had!
