Hi all,

any ideas re the following problem: using Accpac 5.6A and Imported a test batch of invoices into AP - the import worked fine.
However when I go into Invoice Entry (or Batch listing for that matter) the batch I imported does not appear? (the batch number I imported in my case was 390 - but the last batch I can see in Accpac is 388)
When I try to import the same batch again Accpac tells me that it cannot import as the invoice number already exists, so the info is somewhere in there, why cant I see it and post it?

Thanks

Checked my import file the CNTBTCH field is 390 both in the "Invoices" table and the "Invoice Details" table.

Also checked batch 388 (the one I can see) and the invoices are not added there.

Would Importing AP invoices post them automatically or would they remain "open"?

The batch number in the import file is ignored, the transactions are imported into the batch you have open. Import batches are left open.

You are 100% correct, it did actually add it to the batch that was open when I performed the import, found it in line 4.

Thanks for your help

Hi,

Would u be kind enough to share how you are importing into ap module? Ive been searching for this function in accpac without success.

Best
Dennis

Dennis -

You're joking, right? On basically any Accpac screen, select File/Import. If you want the format, select File/Export.

I know it sound dumb, and its exactly why I dont want to paying my local consultant for an answer..

My current challenge is locating the import function, its not listed in File, for any modules or GL..

Which icon did you open, i.e., A/R Customers/Customers? Are you logged in with sufficient security to make changes?

No I'm not logged in as admin, is this required to perform manual imports?

I've looked for it in AR and AP cant find import.
I'll get the admin to review my security access.

You can't import from the Batch Listing window. You have to create a new batch (or open an existing one) and from the Batch Entry window select File, Import...

Thanks for the advice guys, apologies for hi-jacking the thread.

I'm seeing that the Admin does have Import.
Just need to figure out how make Import avaiable to lower level users now
