Anyone tried it? Here's what I have found so far

User import's do not populate the full name field automaticly.

I tried to export a full configuration then went and copy and pasted my names into the full name field when I did that the Manager application hung.

If anyone has some time to try it. maybe it's my laptop? Or maybe I'm doing something wrong.

this did work pre 3.2, i have seen some differences in the .csv files so it might not work for 3.2.

If you export a full config as .csv then all data is saved separated with a comma ( how obviuos!)
The point is that you can take out a specific part, lets say users and import this in excel.
Delete all unnecessery columns except the phonenumber, shortname and long name. Do not erase the column headers.
Copy the data in the shortname column to the long name column, save as a .csv file and import it in IPO as a full config.
Don't forget to delete the NoUser and RemoteManager users from the csv file.

example:
US_Name,US_Fullname,US_Extension
Extn201,Extn201,201
Extn202,Extn202,202
Extn203,Extn203,203
Extn204,Extn204,204
Extn205,Extn205,205

I tried something similar or maybe the same thing. I exported the entire system configuration file then copied into the full name field the names that should be there. It crashed when I tried to do this. I thought it might have been my names maybe there were bad characters or to many spaces. I tried what you had said also, copy the default Extnxxx into the name field. No mater what i tried it wouldn't update the full name field.

I used to use the wizard to create users I would copy my users in via csv then apply a template to the ext's. I could build the users in 5 minutes. Then roll out out the DID's via MSN and have the bulk of the programming done.

Me personally I don't like 3.2. I thought the only real enhancement that I might have used would have been delayed ringing. But I have lived with out it for so long that it barely even maters.

OK enough ranting

Ive tried this and have gotten the same results you have, although Ive never had the system crash or hang, it just didnt take the changes. I used to do this all the time with pre 3.2 manager applications. This doesnt work with 3.2.

Also if you export just the users to a csv file it only exports the shortname and the extension for each user. It does not export the full name so you cant do it that way either.

Hi milestoned,

Have you found a way to print in Polish and other languages already? I remember your thread was off-topic in another forum, and was deleted (and I posted a reply for you in it, too). If you still need that, post a new thread in an appropriate forum (I would say, forum779 "Microsoft: Windows XP Pro Forum" or your version of Windows forum would be just right), and I will try to answer that.
