Hi, I have been trying to find a solution to this for a while without much success. Could someone out here please help?

I have a binary file that contains data that was exported from Microsoft SQL. I have the details regarding the various columns that are contained in the file.

I am not sure if MySQL can actually import the data from such a file and load the contents in a table in a text format. Currently this is the only way that the person I am dealing with can provide the data.

Has anyone come across something like this before. Please help.

Thanks,
Bryan

no, mysql cannot import that file. It will not recognize the format. what you can do is, if the machines are running on the same network, create a dsn for the mysql db, and use DTS to export the db to the mysql. we do this all the time

Thanks Bastien. I am not sure exactly how to go about the solution you suggested, but I will read up on that. What was important for me was to know that a direct import from a binary file cannot be done. Much appreciated!
