Hello the wise ones .. ..

I have a database that has Excel Spreadsheets imported into it for analysis. The spreadsheets are located on different network drives as they are correlated from multiple external sites.

This central database has had very minimum security and I now need to make sure that the users cannot get to the database window.

I have disable the database window on start up and disable the shortcut keys (Inc shift), the users still manage to get in behind there by clicking on the file name (Eg File - (List of last databases at the bottom)) .. .. I need to allow them the full menus to import data.

Is there any VB code to bring up window import panel .. .. (eg click on File - Get External Data - Import?) that can work in a button so I can disable the full menu option?

Thanxs!! !!

Tinymind,

Does the:

DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdImport

do what you want it to?

James.

If James' suggestion won't work for you, another solution might be to write your own menu and toolbars, and include only the options you want the users to have access to (no pun intended!)
