Is it possible to import the tables & data from an existing Microsoft Access database into oracle, in which case, how is it done?

If not, is there a quick way of creating the tables & fields, & then importing the data, because it seems like it would take a very long time to manually create each table & field using the SQL Plus program.... James Goodman

There is an import utility in Oracle that you could use. You would need to get Access to output a csv file for each table and then import into Oracle. It is not very difficult. Check Oracle documentation for import syntax. Wushutwist

You can use Oracle Migration Workbench. Look at Oracle site, Oracle documentation.

Another member of this site sent me an email with code to read your Access structures and create scripts to create your Oracle tables. I haven't tried it, but he says it works. If you email me, I will send you a copy of it.
