I have a report that shows SQL data as a report. We have PDFs that are associated with each record. Is there a way to bring the PDF into the report as an additional page to the report? I am very limited in crystal reports so any solution would need to be explained well.

Thanks in advance.

Start by stating your software version in all posts, answers vary based on this.

The state whether the PDFs are within the database, or links to files.

Saying associated isn't descriptive.

Also consider that you'll slow down reports if they need to load these PDFs first, so if they are links, consider making them Hyperlinks and then the users can click on them if they'd like to view them (something like right click the field-> format field->Hyperlink.

Depends on your CR version though...

My Version is Crystal 9.2

The PDF is in a folder on the webserver where the applicaton that uses the crystal reports is located. The application knows the PDF exists by a bit field in the database. The PDF is named to relate to the record it belongs to.

I currently use a process to create the crystal report and export it as a PDF.(Not the one I want to include in the crystal report)

This can't be done just with Crystal but consider a 3rd-party tool (see list at:
My Visyual CUT can automate the process of converting the PDF file (dynamically named via a formula in a Crystal report) to an image file. The image file can then be referenced in Crystal XI. Visual CUT can then export the report to PDF.

hth,
- Ido

Visual CUT & DataLink Viewer:
view, e-mail, export, burst, distribute, and schedule Crystal Reports.

Thanks, that's what I figured, but was worth a shot

Thanks
