Dear all,

I will be implementing VPN in my office soon. The connection would be 2 remote sites to the main office. We are using ADSL broadband 512Kbps with dynamic IP address.
Appreciate if anyone could suggest a solution and hope that it not too expensive as there are budget limitation.
Thanks in advance.

You will struggle with a dynamic IP address! What routers do you have on the ADSL connections? One possible solution would be to have the ADSL upgraded to 'no-nat' and then put a firewall in such as a Zyxel 'Zywall' 10. These are cheap at about £300. Depending on your requirments at the other sites you could put another Zywall in there or just use client software to create the VPN. I would strongly recommend you upgrade the ADSL to no-nat though. It will work but VPNs over NAT setups are not the best way to go.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Tomasykes,

My current router does not have VPN feature so have to build from ground zero.
I actually was also looking at Zyxel 'Zywall 10' and also got the quotation.
Do you also have any recommendation any link to learn about VPN, as I do not have good foundation on the working of the VPN.

Thanks again.

Brgds
