Guys,

I am about to implement qos on our network but I am looking for some guidance on the best way forward.
We have a Cisco network and backbone so we have decided to program the ACD to the Cisco defaults for qos (which I believe are COS 5 & DSCP 46)

The network team are taking care of the Cisco side so I only need to concentrate on the Avaya side. Can anyone give me some guidance on what I need to program? This is what I think I need to -
Enable VLAN tagging on the 'configure server' web browser page.
Set the diffserv and user priority on the IPSI's.
Change ipserver-int xxxx and input diffserv and 802.1p settings (46 & 5)
Change ip-network-region xxxx and input diffserv and 802.1p settings (46 & 5)
Possible make an entry in the 46xx.txt file to program the phones

Is there anything else or am I worong on the above??? We have 8730's running CM5.2 with G650's and 9650/4610 IP phones.

Sorry for the long post...

Mark

You may want to read "Cisco QOS Exam Certification Guide" and the "Avaya IP Telephony Deployment Guide". The older version fo the IP Telephony Deployment Guide has Appendix B: Access list.

Cisco Auto QOS will not do everything for you.

Modify your RTP port ranges in your network regions to 16384-32767.

You have a couple of ports you may want to account for with any gateways.
