I have to setup a Exchange 2000 server on a new DSL line - the server is working on our existing (old) DSL line.

The router on the new DSL line have been set up, so that TCP traffic on port 135, will be routed to the Exchange servers internal IP on port 135. But it doesn’t work - but the server dosn't work. All other incoming traffic, will be rejected by the router.

Is it necessary that the router routes UDP traffic on port 135? And is there any other ports that have to be enabled?

Regards

Morten

Why 135?
And what about your ports 25 and 110? Are they configured? Those are where the mail gets through.

Well port 135 is the port for the Exchange RPC server, so that's the reason. Actually TCP port 110 is open as well for incoming traffic. Port 25 is not open because the users are supposed to use the ISP's SMTP server (to avoid unattended relaying).

I know what 135 is is for, but why do you need that open on the router? Is there an exchange on the outside somewhere?
