Impect of changing PCM law on Meridian Mail & MICB

Hi,

I have to change the Meridian PCM law from Mu to A. But I have MICB & Meridian Mail also installed in the system. If I change the Meridian Mail to A-law by comprehensive upgarde, will the recorded customised voice prompts & greetings convert automatically to A-Law from Mu? or I will have to re-record all the customised greetings & messages? is it the same with MICB?

WHAT KIND OF SYSTEM? IF IT IS MERIDIAN 1 THEN YOU WILL NEED ALAW IN LD 17 PARM AND IN LD 17 FOR INT COMPANDING OR THE VOICE MAIL WILL SOUND SUPER BAD IF YOU CAN HEAR IT AT ALL. IF YOU ARE ALREADY USING MU LAW I WOULD CONTINUE TO DO SO. WITHIN YOUR SYSTEM YOU WOULD BE FINE AND LET THE TRUNKING SETTLE THE COMPANDING ISSUE IF YOU ARE USING DIGITAL TRUNKS.
