Hi,
Is there any using which I can synch up two actuate report servers?
Can I take a core dump of all security roles and users from server 1 and then import them to server 2 so that the ROLES and USERS present on server 1 and server 2 will be same?
I think AcExport and AcImport utilities can be used for this?
Does any one have an idea about it?

Hi

AcExport & AcImport should work OK, but you will need to use the correct switches on the command line.

If you don't want any of the information in the destination encyclopaedia then it is possible to copy the source encyclopaedia over and then clear out the bits you don't want.

But before you try anything it is probably best to ensure you have a valid encyclopaedia backup....

Hi

Probably best to try the Chapter "Working with Actuate Iserver Utilties" in the "Administering IServer System" manual but in nut shell...

To export all users & roles use AcExport -eusers -output <output directory>. Copy the directory over to the other iserver and then

use AcImport -iusers -username <admin equivalent defaults to administrator> -password <defults to blank> -input <input directory> .
You might need to specify the volume name(-vol), config file location(-config), and home location of the iserver location(-home) depending upon how your server is set up and what the enviroment path is.

cheers
