Need help with the setup of my Imail server version 6. It seems that after the initial installation configuration, I can send e-mail to both internal addresses and external internet addresses, but cannot recieve email from either. According to the services and all indicators the smtp and pop services are running fine. I sure that I'm doing something wrong since I am not that familiar with email server software. Briefly, I have a DSL connection running an internal office network. I have 2 static IP addresses being assigend to 2 DNS servers and a web server and hopefully an email server. MY DNS servers have the appropiate MX entries and Host entires, but for some reason my Imail email server software will send email but not recieve. can anyone give advice?

How do you have the mail relay options configured? These are found under the SMTP/SMTP Security tab.

Make sure that the Host Name is defined in the General Tab of the server properties section, as well as any server aliases in the Host Aliases box.

Example: Let's say your host name is server.domain.com, but you want to recieve mail that is sent to domain.com and mail.domain.com. In the Host Name box you should have server.domain.com and in the Host Aliases you should have domain.com and mail.domain.com.

If all you have is server.domain.com and someone sends a message to user@domain.com, the mail server will not accept it.

Also, you can look in your <Install Path>\Spool\ directory at the log files there for any error messages that might help you track this down.

Hope it helps.
