I’m converting a book I wrote to an Ebook using InDesign. It has many photos and I can’t seem to get the images to wrap along with the text to which they belong. I’ve spent a couple days trying to find a solution, and, well, have had no luck. Can anyone help?

With nothing selected, go to Window/Type & Tables/Text Wrap.

Try selecting the third button - wrap around shape. In the 4 section below, selct how far you want the text to stay away form the 4 edges of the picture.

Now go to any page where you want to put in a picture. Don't select anything. Go to File/Place and select the pic you want to put in. You'll now get a loaded cursor. Just sort of drag the cursor across & down & the pic will show up. To change wrapping on a graphic object click on it and make changes in the text wrap window.

One easy way to do things is to draw an empty frame outside any text frame and then drag it into the text and play with the wrap. With that empty frame selcted you can go to Place and put your picture into it. Size is irrelevant as you can then go to Object Fitting and select Fit frame to content. If you do this a lot, note the key combos for fitting and use those to save time.

For more info go to your ID Help/Search and type in "wrap text".

Thank you very muc for the quick response.

Alas, I don't think I explained my problem ver well. I actually want my pictures to move with the text as it wraps. That is, when I edit the book (which I try to limet to Word), I have to reposition all of the pictures as the text wraps.

You are amazing...thanks. I had been using the Select Tool when placing. When you place with the Text Tool, then all is well. Thanks.

I think part of the problem was that when I inserted the book from Word, it defaulted this way, that is, the pics were not achored.
