Images on Vector Shapes

I've placed .eps images on oval shapes which were created within InDesign.
Everything appears normal on screen, yet when I print, around each .eps image is a box which is a slightly different colour than that of the oval shapes I had created and placed underneath.
I've checked the clipping path of each image, they appear fine.
I don't know what's happened.
Can anyone tell me what I've done wrong?

You are probably mixing transparency effects (overlapping a photo over another object) using objects of different color models. For example, an RGB EPS graphic should not be placed over a CMYK or spot color shape in InDesign. If you maintain consistency between the color modes of layered objects and you still get discolored areas, investigate if your printer supports the PostScript generated by InDesign.

Why is everyone in this forum responding to me as picklefish?

I've checked, both the upper .eps image and the lower vector graphic are using process colours.
I've only been able to print this document on a colour laser printer. How can I tell if this printer supports PostScript?

*Maybe this detail will help.*
I've printed a B&W version of the document on the same laser printer.
On the printout, in the area around each image the ink appears grainy, yet in the vector graphics below, it appears smooth.
Below is a sample pic. (hope this helps) And thank-you for helping me!

I forgot to add that these images are using InDesign's drop shadows. Perhaps there is something I'm doing wrong there. [sad]

It's a stitching problem! Something that's occuring, by placing raster images over vector shapes.
I've adjusted the flattener presets to 50/50 vector/raster and checked the "clip complex region" option.
Problem is, the printer doesn't have enough memory to print the file now!

I'm close. Just need some expert advice on any other options available.
