Hello All,

I just upgraded from Illustrator 8.0 to CS2. Now, when I export images (such as JPG), they are cropped to the size of the artboard, and in fact the artboard appears to be part of the image. My old 8.0 version didn't do this--it would only export the image (in its entirety and without the artboard). For obvious reasons, I find it very frustrating that the artboard becomes included in the image I export. I've looked everywhere I can think of for a setting to change, but with no luck. Any assistance is most welcome. Thanks much!

Regards,
Kris

By any chance, did you make a crop area for the entire artboard? If you make a crop area without anything selected it will make a crop area of the entire artboard. That results in the entire artboard being part of the exported image and anything crossing the artboard edges to be cropped - as you described.

To check, open the AI, zoom out and see if it shows crop marks.
