Images are grouped w/ my guides

When in turn my guides on and off my images and everything else dissapears. When I go to print I have to turn on print balnk page. I can't seem to find a way to seperate everything else from the guides.

When you say, turn your guides on and off, are you using the Preview Mode button in the tools palette or choosing Hide/Show Guides from the View menu? If you're using the Preview Mode, it may be that the objects on your page are set to not print (Window > Attributes > Nonprinting). Was the document converted from a Quark file? My items often go missing after conversion.

It happens with the hide show guides from the view menu, when I go to the preview mode everything disappears. HELP!!
