Does anyone know how to place an image (jpg) in a threaded text so that the image gets locked in place with the text? If i insert more text above, I would like this image to move/shift with the appropriate text.

You bet. First place your graphic in a frame, as normal. Then select it with the black pointer tool and cut (or copy). Select the text tool and click in your text where you want the graphic, and then paste. It becomes a character, of sorts, and moves with the text.

Once I paste the image in the text, is there a way to activate the "text wrap?"

Unfortunately, no, I don't think so. If you want to push text away from the graphic a bit, though, you can increase the size of the picture frame (without changing the size of the graphic), to perform a kind of "manual" textwrap.

Note, too, that you'll probably want fixed leading for the paragraph (instead of automatic), so the box doesn't push your line heights around.

Hi,

There are some other possibilities to wrap the text around the image.

1. Select the picture with the text tool when it is placed in your text. The open the paragraph palet. With the iage still selected you go to "Drop Cap". just like you would do with a genuine drop cap the text will flow around the image.

2. When the position of the image is still not good, you can select the image with the black arrow an adjust its position sot that the text and the image are right where you want them.

The drop cap feauture can also be put in a style, that way you don't have to do it for every picture seperately.

Excellent points, carlow. I'd especially forgotten about the ability to drag the object around once it's inline. Very handy.
