We are experiencing a problem with one of our team members emails. Each time they send an email with any graphics (clip art, etc) in the message the file image002.wmz automatically attaches itself to the message.

When the message is received by other members - and you click on the attachment (image002.wmz) if opens a media player and appears to pick up the last video clip that was opened on that particular PC receiving the message.

Does anyone know where this is coming from - or why it is happening? I cannot find any virus involving this file.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is this user sending HTML messages? Which Outlook version?

Re; thread number thread181-27567.

We too are having the exact same issue. On clip art emails an attachment, Image002.wmz, gets attached and if the receiver opens what they think is an attachment, they get Windows Media Player and whatever was last looked at in WMP. If you get any more info let us know.

The reason the recipient is seeing this behaviour is because the WMZ extension is used as the self-installing Windows Media Skin file. when they try and run it media player tries and fails to install the skin and then resumes what it was last doing.

Unfortunately Microsoft originally intended WMZ files to be a conpressed form of any Windows Metafile (WMF).

What mail client is the sender using?
