I am using PSP 7 and am trying to create an image that looks like a bent bicycle wheel rim. I can create the vector graphic of an oval using the preset shapes, but how do I move parts of the rim to make it look bent??

I'm at work at the moment, so I don't have a copy of PSP7 to hand to do a step-by-step - but this should work...

Select the oval with the vector selector. Click the "Node Edit" button on the tool options pallette. Hold down [Ctrl] (or maybe [Shift]?) and point the mouse where you want to add the dent - clicking will add a node, you can then drag it/them to make the dent.

Draw your vector oval.

Click on the vector object selector (bottom-most button in the toolbar, looks like an arrow inside a box).

Display the "Tool Options" pallette, either by clicking on the toolbar icon (like a tiny dialog box with a blue bar along the top) or by selecting View/Toolbars... on the menu and ticking the relevant box.

Choose the left-most tab on the tool options pallette, it has the object selector icon on it. This tab has three big buttons on it, the top one being "Node Edit".

You can now use the real strength of vector objects - the ability to adjust them node-by-node. Drag the nodes you start with, add and remove nodes. If you want to be really fancy, right-click on a node and see al the things you can change.
