Hello.

Is it possible to set a picture as a background in an Excel chart?

I searched the forum, but did not find any question related to this subject.

Thanks.

Click inside the border of the chart once. Right click your mouse and select Format Chart Area. On the right, click the Fill Effects button. Then click the Picture tab. Click Select picture and browse to your picture and insert.

Right click on the background of the chart

Select Format Plot Area

Select Fill Effects

Go to the Picture tab

Select Select Picture

Yes. Hopefully you are using XL2003. Right click chart area. Select Format Chart Area. Under Patterns tab, click on Fill Effects. Under the Picture tab click on Select Picture. Browse and find your Pic.

Hi,

Not really. But here's how to make it SEEM that way.

Case 1:
Chart embedded in worksheet.
Paste the pic, position and size.
Create the chart in the sheet. Position and size to cover pic.
Change the Chart area - Patterns Tab: Area to NONE, and do the same for the Plot Area

Case 2:
Chart Sheet
Insert a Chart Sheet without any data.
Paste the pic into the chart. Size to fit
Meanwhile, back on the worksheet, create the chart in the worksheet.
COPY the chart and paste into the Chart Sheet.
Change the Chart area - Patterns Tab: Area to NONE, and do the same for the Plot Area
