Hi

I have two terminal servers running Metaframe Presentation 3.0.
I have been successfully installing and testing programs on both of these servers.
They connect to a domain controller which hosts the sql database and a licence server.
Now on ONE of my terminal servers on startup the IMA Service will not start.
I get Event ID 3601 failed to load initial plugins error IMA_RESULT_FAILURE
and Event ID 3609 failed to load plugins imaruntimess.dll and imapsps.dll.
This happened after I had installed at least 6 programs - the same programs are installed identically on each terminal server except the error is only occurring on one of the machines. I am not sure after which install the error started - some of the programs I have been installing also install MDAC and I wonder if this could have messed up my Citrix Metaframe Install - does anyone have a fix?
If not can I uninstall and reinstall Citrix Metaframe without wrecking all my application installs.

Have a look at the Admin guide. You will find a section regarding a command called dsmaint. This error usually occurs when the ODBC connection is not set up correctly. On the server that has the problem ONLY try recreating the Local Host cache and then trying to reset the ODBC connection. I think the command goes something like this
dsmaint config /DSN:"c:\program Files\Citrix\Independent Management Architecture\MF20.DSN" /USER:<DOMAIN\username> /PWD:<password>

Hi Scott

Thanks for the tip - I had a go trying to reset the ODBC before I got your post. Could not work out which dsn file I needed. Thought it was the imalhc - I ended up rebuilding the servers and on the Metaframe install had a brainwave when i saw the MF20.dsn file.
I should have been more patient as it looks like a basic fix.
Oh well you gotta love rebuilding servers.
Thanks Again

Sarah
