I'm trying to sum a fomula field. Calculating salesrep commission.

Crystal Professional 8.5. I'm doing a weekly commission report. I am using running totals to calculate a commission amount. I would like to summarize or sub total this commission calculation by salesrep and district. This formula field (commission) is not showing up in my report field options when I try to run a summary of this field. I do have this formula field (commission) in the report but not in the detail section. It is in a group footer.

I have also tried using another formula to calculate this summary or sub total and have not been successful. It adds the last commission figure twice.

Any suggestions?

Crystal can't total other totals.

Try to create all necessary totals directly from the detail level, use a more complex SQL that returns the intermediate total, or use variables.

Wouldn't grouping on district and then salesrep provide the subtotals for both?
 
I am grouping by district, by rep and by customer. The commission if different for different reps and is comprised of a percentage of running total fields.

I tried using variables to keep a running total for the rep's commission, but for some reason it is adding my last customer's commission twice in the rep footer. It prints ok on my group footer for the customer but when I print it in the group footer for the rep it is not correct.
